Bee weekend

Bee weekend

18/04/2020 - 19/04/2020

Bee weekend

Open on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

During the weekend of April 18 and 19, Archeon is taking part in the "National Bee Count". Why do we participate in this, because our museum park is already a paradise for wild bees? We do that because the wild bee in the Netherlands is not doing well. More than half of the 358 species are endangered. If we know more about bees, we can better help the bee. Every bee counts, do you too?

Archeon is home to most bee species from all over South Holland, so you can recognize and photograph many different wild bees and honey bees on that day with your phone.

During this weekend we want to show you how you can take care of a better life of pollinators at home with simple measures. Your contribution ensures that the Green Circles Archeon bee landscape working group can improve the care of endangered bees. During this weekend we are organizing an information market in collaboration with the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, the IVN, Growth and Bloom and Operation Steenbreek.
