Bathhouse: Apodyterium

Bathhouse: Apodyterium

The apodyterium is the entrance to the bathhouse and also serves as a dressing room. On the wall are wooden boxes mounted which serve as lockers. The use of these lockers were not without risk, there were many thieves lurking to steal the clothes. Lockers were also guarded if you pay the fee. Some bathhouses were free, but often people had to pass the cashier first to be allowed inside for the price of bread.
