Prehistoric clothing

Leather and sinew are even less durable than antlers, bone and wood. There are therefore hardly any indications of clothing from this early period. Still, skins and tendons must have been used extensively by Mesolithic man. By making a comparison with peoples that also lived as Hunters, Fishermen and Gatherers, we can get an impression of the clothing image from this time. Bone needles have been found as far back as the Paleolithic era. Man has therefore worked with needle and thread for a long time. Peoples like the Inuit used sinew as sewing thread. These were prepared by chewing them. There are different ways of working leather. For example, the tanning process could take place with urine, but also with oak tannic acid, among other things.
