In this large copper kettle beer is brewed. In the Middle Ages, it is a popular drink, because it is generally healthier than water. Because during the production process the brew is boiled and filtered. The beer that is drunk by adults, is less stronger than today. The thin beer that is less strong, is drunk by children and poor people. The flavor can be controlled by more or less hops, gale, adding ivy or other herbs. These herbs can be found in the monastery herb garden that is maintained by the brothers.
