From Archery to a Spectacular Fire Show

There was no shortage of challenges. Archery was once again one of the most popular activities. On the obstacle course, the young Rangers put their physical strength to the test as they tackled the sandy course, inspired by the rigorous training of the Skandians. Throwing daggers, meanwhile, required a steady hand and pinpoint accuracy. There was also plenty of sword fighting, and visitors could unleash their creativity by painting runes and designing their own shields.

Meanwhile, the familiar folk melodies of Sassenach rang out across the park, while the medieval tournaments on the tournament field brought plenty of action and excitement. In the Arena, the audience watched in suspense as Halt and his young apprentice performed their thrilling fire show. Throughout the park, young Rangers put their skills to the test and worked their way through as many challenges on their activity cards as possible.

More Than 50 Teams Compete for the Brotherband

The Brotherband competition was another great success. More than 50 teams signed up to compete against one another. After earning points in a series of challenges, the three highest-scoring teams advanced to the final. They faced off in an exciting showdown, with very little separating the teams. In the end, one team claimed the coveted title of Brotherband champion.

A Real-Life Ranger in Action: European Champion Silas Borgen

One of this year’s highlights was a demonstration by 15-year-old Silas Borgen from Nes aan de Amstel, who recently became European champion in mounted archery in the under-17 category. Riding his horse, Silas shot arrows at a series of targets, demonstrating the concentration, timing and agility this sport demands.

Silas’s story made his appearance all the more special. As a young boy, he read the Ranger’s Apprentice books and dreamed of becoming a real Ranger himself. Through his impressive achievements, that dream is coming to life in its own way. His demonstration showed how the adventures in the books can inspire young people to develop new skills and push their own boundaries.
