Exhibition Napoleon – Long Live the Emperor
18 December 2021 – 20 March 2022

From 18 December 2021 to 20 March 2022, Museumpark Archeon presented the exhibition Napoleon – Long Live the Emperor in the Roman Bathhouse. The exhibition focused on the life, ideas and influence of Napoleon Bonaparte, one of the most influential figures in European history.

Visitors discovered Napoleon as a military strategist, statesman and visionary. The exhibition showed how his reforms continue to influence everyday life today, including the metric system and the legal system. At the same time, his personal side was explored: his ambitions, decisions and the way he was perceived by his contemporaries.

The exhibition featured objects and reconstructions that brought daily life during the Napoleonic era to life. These included military uniforms, battlefield scenes such as the Battle of Waterloo, and a furnished campaign tent. Through this combination of objects, stories and visual material, visitors gained a broad understanding of both the man and the emperor.

The exhibition concluded with a finissage, during which parts of the exhibition and replicas of paintings were symbolically auctioned, bringing a special conclusion to this historical presentation.

This exhibition took place from December 18th 2021 to March 20th 2022.
