Roman coins

Roman coins

Romans did not do barter, which was complicated and time consuming. They paid with coins. These coins were beaten everywhere in the Empire and bearing a mark. However, counterfeit coins were also common. Some coins were worth a lot and others very little, depending on the material of which the coin was made. The gold coin was the most valuable. Coins were provided with plates; on the one hand the emperor, on the other hand, a god or goddess. Just like the Euro nowadays.
