Omroep West explores Archeon’s medieval monastery

How does medieval monastic life come to life at Archeon? Omroep West visited the Franciscan monastery and discovered how volunteers immerse themselves in life as it was 700 years ago.

What was it like to live 700 years ago?

Omroep West visited the Franciscan monastery at Museumpark Archeon and created a wonderful story about the brothers who bring medieval monastic life to life here.

Who are these Franciscan brothers? What do they do in the monastery, and why do volunteers choose to fully immerse themselves in life within a medieval monastic community?

From Gregorian chants and a medicinal herb garden to brewing beer and painting icons: history comes to life in a truly unique way at the monastery.
