Exhibition Bene Lava

20 December 2025 – 26 April 2026

From 20 December 2025 until 26 April 2026, the Bene Lava exhibition was on display at Archeon Museum Park. This temporary exhibition focused on Roman bath culture and introduced visitors to the world behind the famous Roman thermae.

The exhibition showed that bathhouses in Roman times were much more than places to wash. They were important meeting places where people relaxed, conducted business, and maintained social connections. At the same time, visitors were encouraged to look beyond the image of luxury and well-being. What role did status, power, and inequality play within this bath culture? And was a visit to the thermae equally enjoyable for everyone?

Through objects, stories, and interactive presentations, the significance of Roman bathhouses was explored from different perspectives. Visitors discovered how bathing rituals worked, which facilities were available, and what role the thermae played in the daily lives of the Romans.

Bene Lava connected with the Roman history portrayed at Archeon and offered a deeper insight into one of the most characteristic aspects of Roman life.

This exhibition took place from 20 December 2025 until 26 April 2026.
