Sauna

The sudatorium, in Latin "sudor" meaning sweat, is the little round of a sauna bath. The temperature was fifty degrees which is very high, because they used a separate boiler room and a perforated floor. The hot air could then go easier to top. A slave held the floor wet, causing many healthy steam. Because the floor was so hot, Romans walked on wooden slippers. Was it too hot, then the cover of the dome could be opened for fresh air.
